Welcome to the Community Reach Web site.
The Community Reach Partnership was
originally formed to deliver the Market Town Initiative
to Brightlingsea, Alresford, Thorrington, St Osyth
Frating and Great Bentley.
Since its formation the Partnership have been successful
in delivering projects, mainly through the Market Town
Initiative. These projects have overall supported
projects totalling more than £1.1m including matched
funding from various sources.
One of the first projects was to produce a Healthcheck
to establish the position at that time of various areas
which would affect the partnership communities such as
youth, the elderly, tourism, inclusion etc. This would
provide a blueprint for the future development of the
partnership and determine the projects undertaken.
Projects have included lasting infrastructure such as
the establishment of a foot ferry service between
Brightlingsea/Point Clear & East Mersea, Springmead
Gardens, various skate park facilities, youth shelters,
Farmers Markets, support of the free outdoor Music
Festival, Extension at Brightlingsea Parish Hall for a
“One Stop Shop” and the creation of a small grants
programme which has supported more than 50 organisations
and clubs within the area.
More recently we managed to secure funding for The
Lozenge project which was carried out in partnership
with the Brightlingsea Town Council to transform an area
from an overgrown inaccessible plot into a nature area
to be enjoyed by all.
Currently as grant funding has become in many areas
more difficult to access, we are still monitoring
funding streams and have continued to support the
partnership area by providing information and guidance
to any group or individual who have projects and need
help to move their plans forward.
It is hoped that in the coming months we will be able to
access the funding we need to start the next chapter of
the partnership and carry out many more innovative
project to benefit the wider community.
